Hey, Lisa. Would you take a look at this vocabulary walk-through by Jiayi for Chapter 1? Just at two minutes. I'm hoping she'll do the same for upcoming chapters. What do you think, if you care to share?
Yes, she is great--upbeat and clear. The video is just the right length. I liked seeing the vocabulary in a large font which helps me pay attention to the components of the characters. I liked that she explained the context of the words, but didn't tell us a bunch of other words that contain those characters (which a lot of teachers do, and it can be overwhelming). Nice simple visuals. My only suggestion is that she has a few English errors. Stripe instead of strip. Conscience instead of consciousness. And some other minor things.

I wish I got more feedback on my far from perfect Mandarin! Her English is amazing, and I am so glad she is sharing her teaching talent online and with your audience as well. I just thought she might appreciate knowing where she could fix a few errors. I hope my comments on your writing are also taken in this spirit. That's very helpful feedback, Lisa. You are right. Xiaoxiao Li si not there. Lao Li is using his memory of Xiaoxiao Li's eyes and his awareness of the complexity of reality to fortify himself to make another cut, and start pulling out more twig. I can clarify that. Thank you!
The end of this chapter confused me a little. I thought Lao Li was alone at home, but the second to last paragraph talks about Xiao Xiao Li.
