微故事：张老板的盒子
A little story about Zhang Laoban's box.
微故事 Wēi gùshì Little Stories is a series of occasional vignettes, written in Simplified Chinese characters for intermediate level readers, featuring objects in the 胡同 and in the lives of 枝丫’s characters. For learners, each post includes an image of the object, an illuminated sentence, an audio of the sentence pronounced sequentially for listen-and-repeat practice, and a 句子拼图 jùzi pīntú sentence jigsaw puzzle.
在张老板书店后面的房间里有很多箱新书。在房间里唯一的灯光下，张老板放眼望去，到处都是一箱箱的新书：地板上、桌子上、椅子上。
张老板感觉很有压力。他想，我该怎么办？我该怎么办？只有柜子里还剩一些空间，可以把新书的箱子放进去。
张老板把柜子打开。柜子里只有一些东西：画笔，毛笔，别的绘画用品和太太给他的盒子。张老板没打开盒子，但是他知道里面是一些照片，那堆照片的最上面是一张他太太和女儿的合影。
张老板很快地思考，如果我把盒子保留下，我的空间会很小。如果我把盒子扔了，我会有更多的空间。如果我想有更多的空间，我就应该把盒子扔了。我决定扔不扔？
但是，我想保留下这个盒子，张老板想。它是我过去的一部分。
张老板问自己，我被过去拥有过吗？我像一本新书，是一个可以拥有的东西吗？我一直被树拥有吗？我想把过去放下，变成一个自由的人吗？张老板拿起盒子，准备把盒子扔进垃圾桶。
停下来，张老板想，再看最后一眼。他打开盒子。
那里有他亲爱的妻子和亲爱的女儿。你们在哪儿，你们在哪儿，他一边想她们，一边哭。
现在，他的太太和女儿只能在这个盒子里了。
如果太多的新箱子堆成一大堆，没问题，张老板想。我不能扔掉我们的这个盒子。
张老板把盒子保留下来了。
